I just completed my second photo story for my VICO 392 photojournalism class. Our assignment was to document a place in Athens county. I chose the Athens-Hocking Reclamation Center, located in Nelsonville, Ohio. Click here to see what I turned in.
Father Martin “Marty” Holler has been the priest at Christ The King Church in Athens, Ohio since 1985. Ordained in 1966 in Columbus, Ohio, Holler celebrates eight masses every week, with an additional Saturday mass when school is in session at Ohio University. Once a month, Father Holler and a handful of Christ The King members celebrate mass at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains, Ohio. For many of the residents, it is their only exposure to religion from the outside.

Today I shot some portraits of video production major David Jeffries for class for a last minute assignment. Since I didn’t have much time, I used my smaller “speed lights” instead of my usual setup of studio lights.
For my photo story project this quarter I have been covering the Marching 110 drum line during their practices and performances. Above is my final edit that I turned in for class.
